Saint Julien
Saint-Julien and Saint-Julien-Beychevelle are the only Haut-Médocappellations that don’t comply scrupulously with the viticultural dominations and the municipal levels.
The Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, even if it’s a bit long, matches perfectly with the human identity and terroir of the town and appellation, which straddles the two plateaus and stony gravel.
Located exactly in the center of Haut-Médoc, the vineyards of Saint-Julien arelocated on a relatively small area, a harmonious synthesis between Margaux and Pauillac. It’s not a surprise that she include under her appellation 11 classified “Crus”, including 5 seconds. Like their terroir, the wines offer a good balancebetween the qualities of Margaux (especially finesse) and those of Pauillac(power). In general, they have a beautiful color, a fine bouquet and a distinctive... a body, rich and sap.
But, of course, in the 6 million bottles produced on average each year in Saint-Julien are far from look all the same, and the most discerningtasters will notice the differences between the raw situated south - closer to Margaux - and those in the north - closer to Pauillac - and amongthose who are close to the estuary and those located more inland, toward the Saint Laurent.
