Heritage and Tradition
With its a unique and complex background, Bordeaux wines history is incredibly rich.
Libourne region development is indeed very typical. At the end of the 19th century, thanks to the correzian immigration to this area, Libourne vineyards (Pomerol, Fronsac and Saint Emilion) began to bloom. Many families drove off their production activities with the main objective to commercialize their wines, not only internationaly, but through national trading and direct sales.
Thus Travers family’s name appeared in the Bordeaux world. Originally Correzian, our ancestors gave birth to our history that now gives us the opportunity to offer to your senses the fabulous treasures that make up our heritage.
In 1909, Francois Leonce Travers gave birth to what is today Vignobles Travers . Michel Travers, his great grandson, took over from his father Henry Travers in 1950, and left to his daughter Hélène Travers, and his son in law Jean Paul Texier, in 1991, the responsibility to transmit family legacy to future generations. Today Helen and Jean Paul are thriving the heritage they have received, along with their son Franck Texier Travers, so from generations to generations values and traditions conveyed through the family remain preserved since in 1909 .
