Varieties : 60% Merlot & 40% Cabernet Franc
Soils :
Complex soils, limestone, clay-limestone plateau, and a clay-siliceous coastline minority.
Vinification :
Fermentation for three weeks in stainless tanks. Wine stays in tanks for 18 months.
Vintages :
2004: An aromatic and delicate nose welcomes us. On the palate, the attack is supple and fruity on a sugary material. Then the wine is tightening its structure with fresh and incisive tannins still very tensed. At the end, we have a quite fruity and smooth wine.
2005: On the nose, the wine sets the tone directly to the range of aromas already complex. We found notes of liquorice, brown tobacco, violet, Burlat cherry, plum, cassis, currant jelly, wild strawberries and raspberries. With aeration the wine takes hints of pepper and mineral aromas. A pleasant wine seducing from the first eye contact! On the palate, the Merlot bursts on a velvety, smooth and fruity material.
